The Fayetteville Technical Community College Foundation is hosting its 2nd annual Trojan Fit 5K Color Run/Walk on  April 30 on  FTCC’s campus.

The event is for serious runners and casual walkers alike. Participants go through campus and explore the camellia trails, fountains, and the Fayetteville Rose Garden.

Proceeds from the 5k will directly go to many scholarships at FTCC, including the Health and Fitness Scholarship.

“Now, more than ever, health and fitness are a priority for many people. The health and fitness industry is growing fast with an increased demand for trainers and industry workers,” said Joseph Davis, health and fitness instructor at FTCC and Trojan Fit committee member. “Our

goal with the Health and Fitness Scholarship is to ease the financial burden of our students and help them to achieve their academic and career goals.”

Registration is limited for the first 400 participants and is $35 dollars per person. T-shirts and race bib pick-up will take place on the Thursday and Friday before the event.

On Saturday, check-in will begin at 8 a.m. with warm-ups starting at 8:45 a.m. The race will officially begin at 9 a.m.

Many volunteers are needed to manage the Color Run to staff the water and color stations and

provide route guidance.

“We are so excited to be able to host another Trojan Fit Color Run here on the FTCC campus. This event brings people together in the community and offers a great volunteer experiences as well,” said Vinessa Jones, health and fitness instructor at FTCC and volunteer coordinator for the event. “Volunteer hours are a great way to be involved in the community. Students get to add experience to their college and work applications. Whether you want to be a participant, a

volunteer, or simply come out to encourage those running it, we hope to see you there.”
