The Office for Regional Initiatives at UNC Pembroke will launch a new 3D printing program this summer.
The program allows participants to learn techniques and use professional-grade 3D printers and CAD/CAM software to explore the latest design processes for prototyping and building solutions.
From June 6-10, the 3D printing program will host a professional development opportunity for individuals to obtain a certification in 3D printing. There will also be a 3D printing summer camp for high school students from June 13-17.
The course for the 3D printing certification will start at 8 a.m. and last till noon Monday through Friday on UNCP’s campus. Registration is required and costs $99. At the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate for 20 contact hours on instruction.
The summer camp will be open to students in grades 9 through 12 and is a week long, going from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost to attend is $150.
Both events will be held in the Business Administration Building in room 130.
