Beasley Media Group is pleased to announce the unveiling of the new role of Regional Vice Presidents across the company. These individuals will be responsible for overseeing multiple markets on a regional basis across the country.
Under the new leadership structure, Cluster and Market Managers will report directly to the Regional Vice President responsible for overseeing their market.
“These changes reflect the company’s continuous commitment to streamline our sales efforts and drive revenue in an efficient manner across multiple platforms throughout the company,” said Beasley Media Group Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley in a press release.
Included in these promotions is Mac Edwards who will be returning to the Fayetteville area as Regional Vice President of the Charlotte and Fayetteville markets.
With an impressive 25 year history with Beasley Media Group, Edwards got his start in the Fayetteville market in 1991 where he programmed Country giant 95.7 WKML-FM from 1991 through 1996 before becoming General Manager of WFLB-FM & WAZZ-AM for five years. Mac then became VP/Operations for all Beasley Fayetteville stations before moving into the Vice President & Market Manager position in 2007, succeeding Danny Highsmith.
In 2016, Edwards accepted a promotion to vice president and market manager to manage Beasley’s newly acquired cluster of stations in Detroit, Michigan (market #13), including Rock legend WRIF, 105.1 The BOUNCE, and Classic Rock WCSX.
In 2022, Edwards relocated to Charlotte, his current market, where he serves as Vice President & Market Manager of Beasley Media Group - Charlotte. There, he oversees six radio stations including FOX Sports-Charlotte, WKQC-FM ( K104.7 FM) and WNKS-FM (Kiss 95.1 FM).
Edwards shared that he grew up near Charlotte in the City of Belmont so returning to the area was a special opportunity.
“When [I was offered] the opportunity to run stations that I had actually listened to growing up and to be involved with those, including WSOC FM, which is the legendary country station in Charlotte, I couldn't turn that down,” said Edwards.
Now as Regional VP, Edwards will be dividing his time between Charlotte and Fayetteville.
“I will maintain being market manager for Charlotte, and it has me overseeing Fayetteville, and it means that I'll be making regular trips to Fayetteville again, which I'm excited about,” said Edwards. “I’ll be getting re-acclimated to the stations and our big brands here. Speaking of legendary brands, both Foxy-99 And WKML for this market, they both hold a special place in my heart.”
Edwards began his new position as Regional VP in August and shared that he is excited to get to work.
“I want everyone to know that Mac is still Mac. I had wonderful business and personal acquaintances and friends in this market. I’m looking forward to reestablishing some of those relationships on a more regular basis and I’ll be continuing to be ingrained in the success of Fayetteville as a whole, and equally that of our clients,” shared Edwards. “When not here, I have been a champion of Fayetteville, and I'm excited to be back and be involved and engaged with the people who make this such a great place to live and to do business.”
During his previous time in Fayetteville, Mac served on the Chamber’s Small Business Council, twice chaired the board of the United Way, was on the Salvation Army Board, and served on the Methodist University Foundation Board.
