
The NC Military Business Center (NCMBC), a statewide business development and technology transition entity of the State of North Carolina and headquartered at Fayetteville Technical Community College, is pleased to announce that Katharine Lopez joined the organization in August 2026. Lopez will coordinate all administrative and logistical support to the NCMBC team statewide.
In this role, Lopez will assist in coordinating purchasing, travel, property control, supply management, print production and statewide events. She will also assist the executive director and director of operations in the planning and organization of webinars, seminars, events and other activities of the NCMBC.
Lopez holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Prior to joining the team, Lopez worked for the Department of Defense as a federal contractor and civilian employee. She has experience working in finance, human resources and military personnel management.
“Ms. Lopez brings a wealth of experience and administrative and logistical talent to the NCMBC,” said Executive Director of the NCMBC Scott Dorney in a press release. “With 17 offices and 22 staff members statewide, the NCMBC needs an employee with Ms. Lopez’s skills and experience to effectively support NCMBC personnel and federal contractors across the state of North Carolina.”
