By Staff Report, posted 2 hours ago

Harnett County is excited to invite residents to the 5th annual Community Day, taking place on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the Harnett County Government Complex, located at 455 McKinney Parkway in Lillington, N.C.

Community Day provides residents with an opportunity to learn more about Harnett County departments, discover valuable resources and services and connect with County employees and community members in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Each year, Community Day continues to grow, attracting more residents, and community organizations.

Family-friendly activities will include bounce houses, face painting, and games. Parents or guardians will be required to sign waivers on-site before children participate in these activities.

Food trucks will also be on-site with food and beverages available for purchase.

“We are excited to announce the 2026 Harnett County Community Day,” said Angela Warren, program manager for Child Support Services with Harnett County Department of Social Services in a press release. “We have lots of beneficial services and information that will be available to all of our citizens. Please be sure to mark your calendars for our event that just may change your life for the better. Come and see what we have to offer! Harnett County Child Support is proud to sponsor Community Day.”

Community Day will feature both indoor and outdoor activities. However, inclement weather may affect the planned outdoor activities.

“Community day continues to amaze us. Each year the event gets bigger and better. Our committee loves planning this event and giving our residents the opportunity to learn more about the offerings of our departments and the resources available throughout our community,” said Desiree Patrick, Communications and Marketing director in a press release.

Since this year’s event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, Harnett County invites families to dress their children in Halloween costumes, if they wish. Some vendors will offer free candy, and several food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of fair-style foods available for purchase. There will also be Halloween-related surprises throughout the event.
