Potbelly Corporation, the iconic neighborhood sandwich shop, set to open its second of three locations at Fort Liberty on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The new Potbelly shop, located at 3905 Honeycutt Road and conveniently attached to an Express gas station, further strengthens the brand’s presence on the base and in non-traditional locations.
The shop is hosting a special promotion on its opening day. Each of the first 50 guests will receive a complimentary Potbelly t-shirt and a raffle ticket to win free Potbelly for a year.
Franchisee Shak Patel is opening the new shop. He already operates four additional Potbelly locations, including the first Fort Liberty shop that opened earlier this year and three in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry and seven successful years as a Potbelly franchisee, Patel is supported by his seasoned partners: Sagar Madhiwala, Vrund Patel and Quinzell White, who also manage the existing Fort Liberty location.
“Fort Liberty is rich in cultural diversity and military tradition, and we’re honored to open a second location to serve those who dedicate their lives to our country and their families,” said Patel in a press release. “Our new location connected to the gas station is the perfect stop for the community to enjoy our signature toasty sandwiches, crisp salads, hand-spun shakes and freshly baked cookies. Continuing to grow our relationship with the Fort Liberty community is a source of pride and we deeply appreciate their love of Potbelly.”
The shop’s décor will feature touches that reflect the Fort Liberty community, reinforcing Potbelly’s connection to the military base and its people.
Operating hours for the new location are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Delivery, order ahead and catering are available through Potbelly.com or the Potbelly App.

Big T’s has been a local favorite of Hope Mills since 2000 when Timmy (Big T) and Donna Gray first opened right on Hope Mills Lake. It is a seasonal restaurant, so many of Big T’s loyal customers were happy to hear they would now be open year-round, seven days a week.
