Pone’s duties will include overseeing the development and execution of robust donor engagement strategies that advance the overall departmental and university objectives, overseeing the development of new strategic partnerships with individuals and groups who have not yet realized the immense value that Methodist University offers students, alumni, and the entire community and supporting longtime university stakeholders in meeting charitable giving goals.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity for the MU family,” said Pone in a press release. “I look forward to strategically guiding and working with the team as we intentionally move the needle forward.”
After earning two bachelor’s degrees from UNC Greensboro, Pone earned a master’s in Public Administration from NC Central University. During graduate school, she taught undergraduate courses in public administration and worked at Duke University’s Conference and Events Division.
Pone harbors an impressive resume. Most recently, she served as Director of Development for Student Affairs at NCCU before being promoted to Director of Development for the School of Business at NCCU.
“Jalisha’s collaborative approach and her strengths in strategic planning make her an invaluable asset for MU as the university enters a new phase of major fundraising initiatives to build the endowment, among others,” said Vice President for Advancement at Methodist University R. Gregory Swanson in a press release.
Pone is currently working towards earning a Doctor of Education degree from UNC Wilmington.
