North Carolina’s diverse food industry has a unique opportunity to engage directly with federal agencies and prime contractors during an upcoming federal food webinar series. Hosted by the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the webinar series will bring together procurement officials, military and civilian agency representatives, and local businesses to explore opportunities in the federal food supply chain.
The in-person 2025 Federal Food Symposium (FFS), which was originally scheduled for April 1-2 was cancelled due to the federal government travel restrictions at that time. Due to the importance of the FFS and some federal travel restrictions remaining in place, the NCMBC chose to provide a virtual platform for information and connection.
Buyers from agencies such as the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), among others will share procurement forecasts, contracting needs, and supplier requirements. For North Carolina producers, processors, and distributors, this is a rare chance to hear directly from the people placing orders.
This webinar series is part of NCMBC’s ongoing efforts to connect North Carolina businesses with federal contract opportunities.
Schedule:
As the food industry continues to grow, the NCMBC remains committed to ensuring that North Carolina businesses are at the forefront of federal contracting opportunities. Future webinars, training sessions, and one-on-one counseling will help even more companies enter and thrive in this space.
