This Saturday at 10 a.m. the Raeford-Hoke Chamber of Commerce is hosting a grand opening and ribbon cutting event for Road To Success Trade Tech Academy (RTSTTA) located at 113 W. Elwood in Raeford.

This event will allow attendees to see the facility, hear from elected officials and learn more about enrollment. Each class is structured to accommodate at least 12 students and the Academy is still hiring instructors.

This training academy was brought about in part by Maggie's Outreach Center.

RTS Trade Tech Academy aims to empower everyone in our community with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the workforce.

“As I began to get in the community, talk with business owners, talk with individuals, the interest was so great and the need is so great that I could not not try my level best to make this happen and to start this school,” shared Ophelia Ray, Founder of RTSTTA.

The academy will provide comprehensive training across a spectrum of trades, including CORE, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, OSHA10 and Carpentry. With a focus on hands-on learning and personalized guidance, each student can pursue their career goals with confidence.

Ray shared that the DEWALT® Grow The Trades program provided them with a grant to help start the school and she is very appreciative of that. Moving forward, RTSTTA will be seeking additional funding to continue providing these educational opportunities to the community.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will mark the opening of enrollment for the Academy, you can find out more and stay up to date by following their Facebook page here
