Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization to host public meeting on congestion management

By Staff Report, posted 4 years ago

The Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is hosting a virtual public meeting on March 29 from 5:30-7 p.m.

At the meeting, the organization will present the Fayetteville Area Multi-modal Congestion Management Process. This formal presentation begins at 6 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session.

The process is used to determine the different types of transportation used in the area, and how to minimize any congestion issues.

This includes automobiles, trains, bicycles, and foot traffic.

The Multi-modal Congestion Management Process project began in Summer 2021 and has involved input from residents concerning traffic congestion in the Fayetteville area. The study shows which points of the city have congestion issues.

Through the project, developments have been made to address these concerns with alternatives to these issues. The final plan will be presented to the Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Committee.
