City of Fayetteville seeks nonprofit applicants for Homelessness Assistance Grants

By Staff Report, posted 1 hour ago

The City of Fayetteville's Economic and Community Development Department is accepting applications from qualified nonprofit organizations for funding to support programs that assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Funding is available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program. The grants support emergency shelter services, homelessness prevention and efforts to help individuals and families find and maintain stable housing.

Funding is available in the following categories:

Emergency Shelter

Up to $64,199.60 in funding is available to support eligible shelter operations and essential services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Housing Stability

At least $56,850.40 in funding is available to support rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention programs that help eligible individuals and families obtain or maintain stable housing. Additional funding may be available based on applications received and available grant funds.

Funding will not be available for street outreach activities through this application process.

Organizations applying for funding must provide a dollar-for-dollar match equal to the amount of grant funding requested. Applicants are encouraged to request funding amounts they can reasonably spend and match during the contract period.

Grant awards are expected to be announced in November 2026, with funding supporting eligible programs from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027. Proposed projects must align with the City's 2025–2029 Consolidated Plan and applicable federal grant requirements.

Applications are available and must be submitted through the Neighborly application portal by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
