Cumberland County Commissioners to hold FY2027 Budget Public Hearing on June 1

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Budget on Monday, June 1, at 9 a.m. and at 7 p.m. in Room 118 of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, located at 117 Dick St., Fayetteville.

The hearing is an opportunity for residents to share feedback on the proposed budget, which will be presented by County Manager Clarence Grier on May 21. Community input is a critical part of the budget process, and the Board encourages public participation.

How to Participate:

Residents who wish to speak at the public hearing must sign up before the start of the meeting. A sign-up sheet will be available in Room 118. Individuals may also sign up in advance by:

  • Calling the Clerk to the Board at 910-678-7771.
  • Emailing atebbe@cumberlandcountync.gov.
  • Signing up to comment online.

Per North Carolina general statute 159-13, the Board may adopt the FY2027 budget no earlier than 10 days after it is presented.

Budget Work Sessions & Public Hearing Schedule

All budget work sessions will be held in the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, located at 117 Dick St., Fayetteville, and will be live streamed. The remaining schedule for the FY2027 budget meetings is:

  • Thursday May 21 at 7 p.m. – Budget Presentation (Room 118)
  • Thursday May 28 at 7 p.m. – Budget Work Session (Room 564)
  • Monday, June 1 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. – Budget Public Hearing/Optional Budget Work Session (Room 118) during the Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting
  • Tuesday, June 9 at 3 p.m. – Budget Work Session (Room 564)
  • Thursday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Work Session (Room 564)
  • Thursday, June 18 at 2:30 p.m. – Budget Work Session (If Needed) (Room 564)
