Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County spotlights four local artists with “2-4-6” exhibit

By Staff Report, posted 2 hours ago

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is proud to announce its latest exhibition, 2-4-6. Emerging from the Arts Council’s Local Artist Spotlight Gallery program, 2-4-6 brings community and collaboration to the forefront through an innovative formula: “2 words, 4 artists, 6 songs.”

Four regional artists will self-curate their own mini-gallery installations in our Main Gallery. Each installation is guided by two words that define the theme for visitors, accompanied by a dedicated six-song playlist designed to enhance the visual experience:

  • Justin Chaplin presents interdisciplinary work exploring the journey between “struggle” and “healing.”
  • Hannah Corcoran exhibits abstract collisions of land, horizon, and sky reflecting “lost” and “found.”
  • Timothy French places “dance” beside “partner,” inviting visitors into an interactive, physical relationship with the art itself.
  • Tiffany Ragin displays large, bold works centered around the themes of “seek” and “surrender.”

While walking through each artist’s exploration of the human experience, visitors will hear curated soundtracks playing throughout the gallery space. A QR code will also be available for attendees to scan and take the custom playlist home with them.

“2-4-6 gives four local artists the space to tell their stories on their own terms,” said President/CEO of the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County Kennon Jackson, Jr., in a press release. “Combining visual art with music invites visitors to spend time with each artist’s perspective and find connections to their own lives. We’re excited to build on our Local Artist Spotlight program by giving these artists room to grow, experiment, and connect with our community.”

Join the Arts Council in celebrating the opening of this exhibit on Friday, Nov. 6 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Art Center located at 301 Hat St in downtown Fayetteville. The event is free and open to the public.
