This week, Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) started construction at Tokay Park to replace the existing six tennis courts, which have reached their lifespan, with three tennis courts and 10 pickleball courts.
The City of Fayetteville is continuing a citywide investment in tennis and pickleball, improving existing courts and building new ones to expand access to the two sports for residents and visitors.
In 2025, Lake Rim Park was the first to complete tennis court refurbishments. Mazarick Park is next, with refurbishments planned in the coming months. Both parks remain open for tennis while work is underway at Tokay Park, and pickleball courts are available at Rowan Park and Massey Hill Park.
Looking ahead, the City will soon celebrate the opening of the Courts of Glenville Lake Tennis Center. This tennis center will include 11 tennis courts, including a championship court, four pickleball courts, locker rooms, a lounge, a learning area and a pro shop.
By the end of 2026, all tennis and pickleball courts will be either fully refurbished or newly constructed, supporting City Council’s efforts to expand parks and recreation and provide more opportunities for engagement and connection.
FCPR offers tennis and pickleball programming for adults and youth throughout the year. Residents are encouraged to visit FCPR.us to learn more about available programs and registration.
