The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival announced the return of Fayetteville After Five, a concert series that takes place from July 15 to Aug. 12.
The Fayetteville After Five events take place during the summer on every second Friday in Festival Park. During the events, the public is welcomed to enjoy a free night of concerts.
“The After Fives were created as an initiative to have a presence in the community,” said Sarahgrace Snipes, executive director of The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival. “We do the spring festival because it’s such a staple event, and that is what we’re known for. But the Dogwood Festival acknowledged years ago that it’s very important to have a community presence year round.”
For the first concert night, Throwback Collaboration Band will be opening for Rivermist. On Aug.12, 10 ‘O Clock High will open for Zoso - The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience.
“People can expect to be able to see someone they know at the After Five in July, both Rivermist and Throwback Collaboration Band are local,” stated Snipes. “It's guaranteed that there will be a lot of community support for local musicians.”
Food trucks will also be in attendance to provide beverages and food. These food vendors include: Carolina Moe’s BBQ, Nia’s Frozen Desserts, Scotty’s All American Food Truck, Tanks & Franks, and Wild Sunflower Pizza.
Festival Park does not allow coolers, outside food and beverages or canopies. Service dogs are welcome.
Gates open at 5 p.m. with acts beginning at 6 p.m and wrapping up near 10:30 p.m.
