Greater Sandhills Chamber of Commerce president announces resignation

The Greater Sandhills Chamber of Commerce has announced that its President, Devon Newton, will be stepping down from her role after dedicated leadership and service. Newton’s decision to resign comes after a tenure marked by remarkable achievements, and a steadfast commitment to the local business community.

Newton has been instrumental in strengthening ties between local businesses, fostering economic development, and elevating the Chamber’s role as a leading advocate for commerce in the region. Under her leadership, the Chamber has initiated key programs that have significantly benefited the community, and built strong partnerships across various industries.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Greater Sandhills business community as President," said Newton in a press release. "I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I look forward to seeing the continued success of the Chamber and the amazing people who work tirelessly to make our community thrive."

The Greater Sandhills Chamber Board of Directors extends its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Newton for her outstanding service and unwavering dedication. Her legacy will leave a lasting impact on both the Chamber and the broader Sandhills community.

Newton originally joined the Greater Sandhills Chamber as Board Chair in February 2024. Her addition came along with two other officers; Lynndora Thompson as Vice Chair and Mary Jackson as Treasurer. Read more here
