Home Instead Fayetteville is proudly celebrating 20 years of serving older adults and their families throughout Cumberland County, marking two decades of helping seniors remain safe, comfortable and independent in the place they call home.

The story of Home Instead Fayetteville began with a personal experience. In 2006, local educator Susan Guy found herself searching for quality in-home care when her husband needed assistance. She quickly realized there were few dependable options available for families facing the same challenges. Determined to make a difference, Guy partnered with Martha Owen to explore senior care franchise opportunities that would allow older adults in Cumberland County to receive compassionate, professional care while remaining in their own homes.

In December 2015, Bob and Kathryn McCarthy purchased the Home Instead Fayetteville office, continuing Guy and Owen's vision. Under their leadership, Home Instead has continued its mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults and their families through personalized care and exceptional caregivers.

“Reaching our 20th anniversary is a celebration of everyone who has been part of this journey,” said Bob and Kathryn in a press release. “We're incredibly thankful to Susan and Martha for bringing Home Instead to Fayetteville, to our dedicated Care Professionals and office staff for the compassion they show every day, and to the families who have trusted us to care for their loved ones over the past two decades.”

Today, Home Instead Fayetteville provides a wide range of personalized, non-medical home care services, including:

  • Personal care assistance
  • Companionship
  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Medication reminders
  • Transportation and errands
  • Alzheimer's and dementia care
  • Respite care for family caregivers
  • Hospice support
  • Overnight and 24-hour care

As the senior population continues to grow, the need for compassionate, dependable in-home care has never been greater. Home Instead remains committed to helping older adults age with dignity while providing families with peace of mind through customized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.

Throughout the anniversary year, Home Instead Fayetteville will celebrate with caregiver recognition, community outreach, educational programs and partnerships that continue to support older adults and family caregivers across Cumberland County.
