The City of Fayetteville invited residents and business owners to learn more about city programs and business building resources available as part of Economic Development Week from May 6-10.
On Wednesday, May 8, The City of Fayetteville’s Economic & Community Development (ECD) department partnered with Fayetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) to host an open house highlighting community resources provided by local organizations.
Held in the Economic and Community Development offices at Festival Park Plaza, the open house provided an environment for residents to ask questions, meet employees and gather information. Along with representatives from the ECD department and the FCEDC, other organizations present included the Women's Business Center of Fayetteville at CEED, Fayetteville State University’s Veterans Business Outreach Center and The Fayetteville-Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur and Business Hub.
“As my partner and mentor Robert Van Geons said last night, Economic Development is truly a team sport, I’m thrilled that we could host several partner agencies, elected officials and business leaders to learn more about what resources we bring to the community separately and as a team,” said Chris Cauley, Economic and Community Development Director for the City of Fayetteville.
Organizers would like to thank attendees for coming out and learning more about the organizations and programs that are at their service to foster growth and development in business, homeownership, commercial real estate acquisition and more.
"As Chair of the Economic and Redevelopment Commission, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us at the 'Transforming Communities Through Economic Development' Open House during Economic Development Week. Your presence and support underscore the collective commitment to building vibrant, resilient and prosperous communities together. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey towards a brighter future for all,” said Chairwoman Quontica Conley-Jackson.
Economic Development Week was officially recognized by the City of Fayetteville on Monday, May 6 through an official proclamation.
“As we celebrate Economic Development Week we are reminded that 80 percent of GDP occurs in cities. Small businesses and Entrepreneurs are the driving force to our economy. Their role has never been more important to this community. We want to communicate the message loud and clear Fayetteville welcomes business and economic development,” said City of Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin.
