Fayetteville Fire Department recruiting Certified Fire Fighters

The Fayetteville Fire Department will begin accepting applications on July 7 through July 19 for certified firefighters and Lateral Entry Firefighters with Emergency Management Technician (EMT) Credentials.  

Individuals who currently hold both North Carolina Firefighter and EMT credentials are eligible to apply during this application period. Applicants with a minimum of two years of full-time firefighting experience and currently employed with a municipal fire department may be eligible for the Fayetteville Fire Department’s lateral entry program. 

The starting salaries for both positions are:     

  • Certified Firefighter/EMT - $46,700 
  • Lateral-Entry Firefighter/EMT - $46,700 to $52,310 (Depending on Qualifications).  
  • The benefits for serving as a Fayetteville Firefighter include: 
  • Educational Incentive Pay up to $3,000 per year 
  • Annual Comprehensive Cancer Screening
