The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC), a statewide business development and technology transition entity of the State of North Carolina headquartered at and supported by Fayetteville Technical Community College, welcomes Heather Port, Business Development Professional to the NCMBC and to the Greater Fayetteville Region team.  Heather joined the NCMBC in August 2021 and is responsible for connecting with businesses in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland counties, helping them to identify and obtain federal contract opportunities as well as navigate the solicitation and proposal processes.

Heather brings over 15 years of marketing and business development experience to the position. Her previous roles include Director of Marketing and Business Development and as a Regional Marketing Director for various property management firms. After relocating with her family to Fairbanks, Alaska, Heather gained further experience working for an architecture and planning firm as a Marketing Specialist, where she was engaged in proposal development for government and private sector design-build projects.  She also worked as a contractor for the Transition Assistance Program on base before moving into federal service as a Housing Manager at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, where she earned a Customer Service Award from the Garrison.

Heather will serve the Greater Fayetteville region in support of the NCMBC’s mission to leverage military and other federal business opportunities to expand the economy, grow jobs and improve quality of life in North Carolina.  Businesses interested in pursuing or expanding their federal business portfolio within Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland counties should contact Heather: https://www.ncmbc.us/heather-port/
