BIO Jennifer Ray is the Corporate Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO) at Cape Fear Valley Health (CFVH). Jennifer has been with the health system for 23 years, having spent the last 12 in the Information Services & Technology (IST) department. As CCIO, Jennifer uses her nursing background to bridge the gap between clinical operations and IST, strengthening the technology presence for all clinicians. Just one of her many responsibilities during her career is that in 2013 she, along with our current Chief Information Officer and Chief Medical Officer at the time, formed the Medical Informatics Governance Council in order to regulate and collaborate Electronic Health Record content to ensure evidence-based clinical decisions are utilized. Jennifer recently obtained Nursing Informatics board certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her personal mission here at CFVH is to provide the tools, knowledge, and support that aligns with the health system’s vision of patient centeredness, integrity, cultural diversity, innovation, teamwork, accountability, and education. When she’s not working she can be found at her home in the country with her chickens and ducks, or lounging in the pool with her husband and teenage son.
