My name is Kristyn Keefe and I am a Mobile Recruitment Coordinator for Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center. I am born and raised in Fayetteville so I am extremely invested in helping the community as much as possible, especially when it comes to saving lives. I was a blood donor until I had medical issues that prevented me from being a donor, so now I do my best to recruit as many people as possible to donate. I love going out and meeting new people and educating them on why they should donate blood, how their blood is used to save so many people in this community along with our surrounding counties. I love being able to recruit first time donors the most because maybe they were scared for something they really just didn’t know about. Once you get the first person on board and show them the hero they just became to up to 3 people, it doesn’t get much more rewarding than that. Even being able to get those who can’t give due to medical reasons, but they end up recruiting people for me as well who are healthy enough to donate, is just as rewarding as those who are able to. I absolutely love what I do and I love getting the word out there about saving lives locally with our blood donor center.
