GivingTuesday: An opportunity for your giving to go further

Sponsored Content provided by Maddie Kellogg - Director of Donor Services, Cumberland Community Foundation

If you're planning to make charitable gifts this holiday season, Cumberland Community Foundation's GivingTuesday campaign may be the best opportunity to make your generosity go further.

Gifts made through the GivingTuesday campaign to support local nonprofits will be amplified by $550,000 in matching funds. The campaign runs November 23, 2026, through December 1, 2026, and there are 89 local nonprofits participating. The match will help every donation have an even greater impact.

Our $550,000 matching pool is made possible by:

  • Cumberland Community Foundation’s Unrestricted Endowments
  • Fayetteville New Car Dealers Association
  • Holmes Security Systems
  • Linda and Ralph Huff
  • Elizabeth “Beth” Keeney
  • Ray and Daphne Manning
  • Bunny and W.C. Powers

There are many ways to give:

Give online: Visit Cumberlandcf.org November 23, 2026 through December 1, 2026 to make an online credit card gift. Browse the list of participating nonprofits, and donate directly to one or more organizations.

Give by check: Mail a check to Cumberland Community Foundation, PO Box 2345, Fayetteville, NC 28302. Make the check payable to Cumberland Community Foundation and note "GivingTuesday - [organization name]" in the memo line.

Deliver a check: Stop by Cumberland Community Foundation at 308 Green Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. Make the check payable to Cumberland Community Foundation and note "GivingTuesday - [organization name]" in the memo line. If outside of business hours, use the secure mail slot at the front door.

Donate appreciated stock: Donating stock can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. Instead of selling appreciated shares and then making a cash donation, you can transfer stock directly to Cumberland Community Foundation for any of the 89 participating organizations. Call CCF for instructions – (910)483-4449.

Give from your IRA: If you are 70½ or older, you may be able to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (“QCD”) directly from your IRA. Many donors appreciate this tax-neutral option to support their favorite charities. Gifts can be made directly to Cumberland Community Foundation (Tax ID: 58-1406831). Call CCF for instructions – (910)483-4449.

Use a donor advised fund (DAF): Use your donor advised fund to recommend a grant to Cumberland Community Foundation (Tax ID: 58-1406831) for GivingTuesday.

You may begin directing check, DAF, IRA, and stock gifts to CCF starting November 1st. Gifts will be held and processed at the start of the campaign on November 23rd. All gifts must be received by December 1 at 11:59pm.

To learn more about participating nonprofits, check out the 2026/2027 Guide to Giving.

Since 1980, Cumberland Community Foundation (CCF) has helped donors create permanent charitable legacies through endowments. If you'd like to support local causes not only this year, but for generations to come, we'd be happy to help you design your own endowment. Call Maddie Kellogg to explore options – (910)483-4449.

Whether your passion is helping children, supporting the arts, caring for animals, protecting the environment, or any other worthy cause, GivingTuesday is an opportunity to support the organizations making a difference right here in our community. I hope you'll join us.
