Systel acquires Baker Office Solutions LLP in Florence, South Carolina

Systel Business Equipment said Wednesday that its purchase of Baker Office Solutions of Florence closed on June 15, according to a prepared statement.

Additionally, the company purchased a 7,146 square-foot facility at 1512 Second Loop Road in Florence. 

“Systel is excited to welcome the Baker Office employees to the Systel team and we look forward to expanding Systel’s reputation for excellent customer service farther into the South Carolina region,” said Janene Aul, vice president of operations/general counsel. 

The largest independent dealer of office automation equipment in the Southeast, Systel Business Equipment is authorized in five states.

“Like Systel, Baker Office Solutions is a family owned business that is committed to putting its customers first,” said Jacqueline Smith, vice president of marketing and business development. “They are a great fit for our growing company, and we are excited to finally bridge the gap between our North Carolina and Atlanta offices with a brick and mortar location in Florence.”

The move into South Carolina aligns with Systel’s manufacturer authorizations and growth strategy and provides opportunity

The acquisition aligns with Systel’s manufacturer authorizations and growth strategy into the South Carolina market will allow us the company to tap into Baker Office Solutions’ machine base mix of Toshiba and Lexmark.

“This is the first of many acquisitions and authorization strategies we have planned for South Carolina,” Jacqueline Smith stated. “This region has been on our radar for years and we are looking forward to what the future holds for Systel here.”

Founded in 1981, FayettevilleSystel Business Equipment began with a handful of employees, but founder and current president and CEO, Keith Allison now has more than 250.
