The Moore County Leadership Institute (MCLI) recently announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2024 calendar year. MCLI’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and fostering positive change within the community is headed into its 35th year.

The Moore County Leadership Institute, a flagship program of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, has been at the forefront of leadership development for over three decades serving as the second oldest program in the state of North Carolina. Over the years, the program has been revamped to include dynamic and engaging sessions, featuring prominent local leaders as guest speakers. The program focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and connections required to be civic leaders in their home community whether that be Moore County or elsewhere.

Community impact projects have been an initiative throughout MCLI to give back to those residing in Moore County. There is a requirement to attend one government meeting to learn more about local governance. MCLI is committed to strengthening its alumni network, fostering relationships that extend beyond the program’s duration. The goal is to create a lasting and supportive community of leaders.

MCLI offers scholarships to make leadership development accessible to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to serving Moore County. Application to MCLI is required prior to requesting a scholarship.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the MCLI program,” said Linda Parsons, President & CEO of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, in a press release. “This flagship program aligns with our mission of cultivating and empowering the leaders of tomorrow. We believe they will enable participants to not only understand leadership principles but also apply them in meaningful ways within our community.”
