Carolina College of Biblical Studies is celebrating 50 years of ministry this year at 817 S. McPherson Church Road. To honor this 50-year milestone, CCBS is hosting a “50th Anniversary Day of Celebration” service at 6 p.m. on Sept. 10. This event is free and open to the public.
The Day of Celebration service is one of the many events that CCBS will hold this year, but it is considered by the college as the most special. CCBS President Dr. Korver, said in a press release, “What was started as a passion of a local pastor has become a college that has provided biblical higher education for more than 7,000 men and women.” The event will include special guest speakers, significant ministry partners and refreshments to follow.
This event not only allows CCBS to reflect on the past but is also a reminder to look toward the future as well. “We want to express our thanks for all that God has done. We also want to look forward to what might be and commit ourselves to fulfilling His mission,” stated Dr. Korver in a press release.
CCBS also announced the acquisition of the lot next door and plans to use it as either a student success center or a stand-alone graduate school. The staff recognize that it is only by God’s grace that the college can expand, and that this is just the beginning of the next 50 years.
The mission of Carolina College of Biblical Studies is to “disciple Christ-followers, through biblical higher education, for a lifetime of effective servant leadership.” Over the past 50 years, the college has also achieved many milestones including becoming nationally accredited, launching an online degree program that reaches students around the globe, opening a graduate school and partnering with the largest Bible translation ministry in the world.
