North View Lanes, a family-owned and operated bowling center located on Ramsey Street, is serving up more than just strikes this summer. In a bid to bring new dining options to the neighborhood and support local entrepreneurs, the bowling alley has begun hosting food trucks every Friday and Saturday.
“Really how it started was [as an effort] to bring more options to the north side of town and promote small businesses and promote the bowling center as well,” shared Leila Scarborough, a North View Lanes representative.
The bowling center is hosting up to three different food trucks a day on Fridays and Saturdays. There is no fee for trucks to book a date and set up in the space.
The response so far has been positive, with every truck making sales during the inaugural weekend. Scarborough shared that the bowling center was a little busier during their first weekend hosting the trucks, and as word gets out, they expect even more buzz.
Outside food is usually not permitted in the bowling alley, but customers are welcome to order from the trucks and bring their food in and eat and bowl at the same time.
Scarborough shared that they try not to book similar food trucks on the same day, so there’s always some variety. There will be some trucks that become “regulars” and frequent the space, but most weekends will feature new options.
As they continue to host food trucks there is potential to expand to host trucks all week long, but for now they’re starting with just Fridays and Saturdays.
Slots have already been booked for weekends in July, but there are still spaces available in August and September. Interested vendors can email North View Lanes at Northviewlanes@hotmail.com for further details and to reserve a date.
