
Bonnie McPeake, owner of McPeake Hotels, and her team from the Hilton Garden Inn Southern Pines-Pinehurst have earned two prestigious awards from Hilton Hotels.
On May 19, they were presented with the 2022 Connie Award, given to the top-ranked Hilton Garden Inn in the U.S. and Canada. They also earned the Brighter Together Award, given to the top-ranked Hilton Garden Inn based on guest service scores.
The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB documented the award and shared their congratulations in a Facebook post stating:
“The CVB is enormously proud of these outstanding accomplishments for McPeake Hotels. They speak to the quality of staff from housekeeping to front office and every person in between. Keep in mind, they rank #1 out of 760 Hilton Garden Inn branded hotels!”

FCEDC has officially moved its staff and operations to 611 W. Russell St. The 35,800- square-foot center was previously home to Homemakers Furniture and Interiors. Renovations began in the fall of 2025 and are expected to be completed in the next six to eight months. Currently, FCEDC staff are working within an open 7,500-square-foot floor plan as initial improvements progress.
