Family entertainment center Main Event is continuing to make progress on the Fayetteville location currently under construction at Cross Creek Mall. The business took to the social media platform LinkedIn to announce the Fayetteville location’s new General Manager, Derrick Shane.

Main Event spoke about Shane in a social media post stating:

“Congratulations to Derrick Shane on his recent promotion to General Manager of our Fayetteville, NC, Center!

Derrick began his Main Event journey at our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, location in 2017. He managed Service, Bowl, and Catering in Pittsburgh and transferred to the Wesley Chapel New Center Opening in 2020 as the Bar manager. In June of 2022, Derrick was promoted to Assistant General Manager for the Orlando location, and since December 2022, he has been acting as Orlando's Interim General Manager.

When Derrick isn't working, he never misses one pitch of a Pittsburgh Pirates game or one kick of the ball of a Liverpool FC match. Derrick is an active runner and has completed two marathons. The mantra he lives by is Liverpool's battle cry, "You'll Never Walk Alone."

We look forward to seeing Derrick's success in this role and all he will contribute to the Fayetteville Team!”

Shane also shared his enthusiasm for the role in a separate LinkedIn post stating:

“I am extremely excited to announce that I have accepted the General Manager position for Main Event’s New Center Opening in Fayetteville, NC! I have so many Main Event family members to thank but none of this would be possible without the incredible leadership and support of Todd Gurney and Alex Trevino Garza!”

The family entertainment center’s addition was announced by Cross Creek Mall in a social media post in late 2022.

According to their website, Main Event opened its first location in Lewisville, Texas, in 1998. The founders set out to develop a haven for families to share in a variety of activities like laser tag, gravity ropes, arcade games, billiards, and more, all under one roof.

Fayetteville’s first Main Event location is expected to open in late 2023.
