Physicians, leaders and clinicians at Cape Fear Valley Betsy Johnson Hospital are proud to announce that Cape Fear Valley Wound Care Center – Dunn has received two national awards from Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The center was recognized as a Center of Distinction for achieving exceptional clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate greater than 92%.

In addition, the center received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award, which recognizes wound care centers that rank in the top 10% of eligible Healogics centers nationwide based on comprehensive healing rates weighted by wound mix.

“Find. Treat. Heal. is our mission and daily practice,” said Program Director of Cape Fear Valley Wound Care Center – Dunn Crystalyn Tew, RN, in a press release. “Chronic wounds can significantly impact a patient’s daily life and overall well-being, which is why our team is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. This year, we have provided over 5,000 patient encounters and more than 600 hyperbaric oxygen treatments. Being recognized as a Center of Distinction and Center of Excellence for 2025 highlights our team’s dedication to exceptional outcomes, high patient satisfaction, and improving the lives of those we serve.”

The center provides specialized, evidence-based care for patients with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds.

Advanced wound care treatments are offered at the center, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that can help accelerate healing in select chronic wounds by increasing oxygen delivery to affected tissue.
