The YMCA of the Sandhills welcomed Keith Miller, D.Min., M.Div. (DeLano K. Miller) as its new executive director of the Fayetteville Branch on July 1. Miller brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit and community-based organizations to the role.

Most recently, Miller served as executive director of Carolina Collaborative Community Care, where he directed organizational strategy, oversaw daily operations and led a team across multiple community programs. During his tenure, he cultivated strategic partnerships with regional health care and social service organizations, launched a new community outreach department focused on health screenings and preventative care and strengthened the organization’s financial performance and long-term sustainability.

Miller’s background also includes leadership roles at Southern Regional AHEC Fayetteville, Cumberland Anesthesia Associates and Nash UNC Health Care System. Miller holds a Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity from Luther Rice University, along with a Master of Arts in Leadership and Bachelor of Arts in Religion.

“I’m honored to join the Fayetteville YMCA to support our membership while moving this branch forward in meeting our community’s needs,” Miller said in a press release. “The Y has always been so much more than a place to exercise – it’s a place where people find belonging, connection and support in so many different ways at so many different stages of their lives. I look forward to building on this legacy.”

Miller will oversee the Fayetteville branch’s operations, growth and community programming, continuing the Y’s mission of strengthening the Fayetteville community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

“Keith brings a rare combination of operational expertise, strategic vision and genuine heart for community service to the Fayetteville Y,” said Jeff Darling, CEO of YMCA of the Sandhills, in a press release. “His years of nonprofit and community-based leadership make him exceptionally well-suited to lead this branch forward. We’re confident our members and staff will benefit from his experience and his commitment to our mission.”
