
The Fayetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) is excited to announce the promotion of Brittany Tschida Odom to chief operating officer. In her new role, Odom will oversee FCEDC’s organizational operations with an emphasis on marketing, communication and special projects.
“Since joining FCEDC, Brittany has shown a strong commitment to our mission,” said Robert Van Geons, president and CEO of FCEDC, in a press release. “As our organization continues to grow and take on new initiatives, Brittany’s leadership will help us build on our momentum and continue fostering opportunities throughout Fayetteville and Cumberland County.”
Odom joined FCEDC in December 2023 as a communications specialist and was later promoted to marketing manager. Throughout her tenure, she has contributed to a wide range of organizational priorities, including stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and the promotion of Fayetteville and Cumberland County as a place for business growth and investment.
“I am honored by this opportunity and grateful for the confidence that Robert Van Geons and our Board have placed in me,” said Odom in a press release. “As a native of Fayetteville and Cumberland County, I am passionate about helping our community grow and prosper. I look forward to continuing our work to attract investment, support workforce development, and create opportunities that strengthen our community.”
Once Upon a Bite launched in early 2026 and has continued to grow through local markets, festivals, private events and community partnerships throughout the Fayetteville area.
