CommWell Health celebrated the beginning of construction for its newest multi-specialty health center facility in Coats, N.C., with a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 14.

“50 years ago, CommWell Health started as a small night clinic, three county health departments trying to figure out how to take care of a community that was growing faster than the healthcare around it could keep up. CommWell Health, we've grown a lot since then, but that's still who CommWell Health is at our core. We go where the need is, and we stay,” shared CommWell Health CEO Tamara Dunn.

The new CommWell Health Coats facility will be located at 238 East Stewart St., in Coats, N.C., and will provide primary family care, family medicine, dental services and telehealth behavioral health services for patients of all ages.

The newly constructed facility will serve as a permanent home for the community and is expected to create more than 40 clinical, professional and support positions in Coats and throughout Harnett County. CommWell Health is currently providing temporary services from the Coats Senior Center, ensuring continuity of care while construction is underway.

The 8,600-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in 2027.
