Main Event, Fayetteville’s newest entertainment venue will open its doors tomorrow, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m.

This is Main Event’s 58th location nationwide and its first location in North Carolina. The venue features more than 38,000 square feet of interactive activities including bowling lanes and laser tag. Guests can also enjoy food and drinks from their signature in-center dining experience, Family Kitchen.

A handful of community members have had the opportunity to experience Main Event early through their friends and family event or “VIP party” and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

General Manager Derrick Shane said “...the excitement level is obviously extremely high both within our four walls and outside of them. So I don't really know necessarily what to expect tomorrow or throughout this first week, but I do expect that it's going to be very busy and a lot of people are really excited to kind of come in here and jump on board with this launch with us.”

Originally from Pennsylvania, Shane began working for Main Event in 2017 and has moved around to several different locations as he has advanced within the company.

“We can’t wait to hopefully establish ourselves as a major pillar in this community, and for Fayetteville to get an even greater taste of what Main Event is about because the biggest thing that we do is not bowling or laser tag or video games or food or anything like that, it’s the idea that we create experiences and memories for our guests…We are a family and and we value people first so I'm just extraordinarily excited that Fayetteville will hopefully get to see that with the culture that we're looking to create here,” remarked Shane.

The business’s grand opening event is this Friday, Aug. 11, beginning at 10 a.m. They’ve invited leaders throughout the community to come to the ceremony. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. there will be speeches and a little buffet and then at noon they will cut the ribbon and officially mark the opening of the new location. The first 200 guests in line for this opening will get free laser tag for a year.

The grand opening activities will continue throughout the weekend. Donations of $10 will be made for every strike bowled with a goal of raising $10,000 for Main Event's local charity partner Fayetteville Urban Ministry. This is a community-led nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources to those in need in the Cumberland County, NC area. On Sunday, Aug. 13, to conclude the celebration, guests can participate in Big Super Fun Sundae Challenge, awarding a free sundae to any family who can finish the entire sundae in five minutes.
