The Tulsa Initiative Inc has been awarded an $8,100.00 grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County and the North Carolina Arts Council. The grant, which is part of Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County and North Carolina Arts Council’s 2024-2025 Project Support Grant, will enable The Tulsa Initiative Inc’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy (TLEA), a transformative 13-week program designed to empower BIPOC individuals in their entrepreneurial journey. Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants are equipped with essential skills and knowledge across various aspects of entrepreneurship.

“This grant will have a significant impact on our commitment to fostering an environment of support, empowerment, and opportunities for BIPOC entrepreneurs,” said Qu’Derrick Covington, Executive Director of The Tulsa Initiative Inc in a press release. “We are grateful to [The] Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County for their support and confidence in our work. With this funding, we are integrating art-based activities, workshops, and discussions tailored to the needs and interests of aspiring entrepreneurs.
