The Dunn Area Chamber Foundation has been selected as one of 20 recipients to receive a $25,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation as part of its commitment to support communities and small businesses across North Carolina.
The funding will be used to launch the Dunn Area Small Business Growth Microgrant Program, a local initiative created to help small businesses modernize, improve visibility, strengthen operations and build long-term capacity.
The grant is part of a larger commitment from Duke Energy Carolinas and its Foundation to support the vitality of communities across North Carolina, including here in Dunn and surrounding areas.
“This investment from the Duke Energy Foundation gives us the opportunity to put resources directly into the hands of local small businesses,” said Kristina Harrell, CEO of the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce, in a press release. “For many business owners, a targeted investment in signage, technology, equipment or storefront improvements can make a meaningful difference. We are excited for the Dunn Area Chamber Foundation to serve as a connector between this funding opportunity and the businesses working every day to grow and serve our community.”
The Dunn Area Small Business Growth Microgrant Program will provide eligible businesses with the opportunity to apply for microgrant funding to support projects such as façade and storefront improvements, equipment, technology upgrades, inventory, signage, minor renovations and other business needs that support growth, customer experience and operational strength.
The Dunn Area Chamber Foundation was established to advance work in economic development, workforce development, education, and leadership development. This grant will help the Foundation make an immediate and measurable investment in small business growth while supporting broader
community and economic vitality.
