Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is inviting educators and support professionals to explore career opportunities in a district where experience matters. The district will host a job fair for the upcoming school year to recruit talented individuals committed to helping students succeed. The job fair will be held on March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Gray’s Creek High School.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to pre-register here.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with school administrators and district leaders, learn about open positions and potentially interview on the spot.

CCS is currently seeking candidates for several roles, including:

  • Teachers (Pre-K-12)
  • Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teachers
  • School Counselors
  • School Social Workers
  • School Psychologists
  • Speech-Language Pathologists
  • Teacher Assistants
  • Instructional Support Staff
  • Bus Drivers
  • Custodians

At Cumberland County Schools, experience is recognized and rewarded. The district offers the largest average teacher supplement in the Sandhills region and the largest supplement for experienced teachers and certified support staff.

Under the current supplement schedule, experienced educators can earn significant additional compensation. For example, teachers with 25 or more years of experience may earn supplements ranging from $12,713 to $14,112. In addition to recognizing the importance of experience, this increased compensation can positively impact teachers’ retirement income, as higher earnings will improve retirement calculations and long-term financial stability.

“In Cumberland County Schools, we know that experience strengthens our schools,” said Ruben Reyes, associate superintendent of Human Resources, in a press release. “Our goal is to recruit and support professionals who are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. This job fair is an opportunity for talented educators and staff to join a district that values their knowledge, dedication and impact.”

CCS also offers additional incentives for several high-need positions, including:

  • $2,000 salary advance option for new teachers
  • 6% annual supplement for classified staff
  • $6,000–$8,000 sign-on bonus for licensed EC teachers
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus for speech-language pathologists

As the fifth-largest school district in North Carolina, CCS serves more than 48,000 students across 86 schools and remains one of the largest employers in Cumberland County.
