Bladen Community College is proud to announce it has been awarded a $287,000 grant from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission to expand and enhance agricultural training facilities and programs.

Through the “Agriculture Facilities Expansion & Improvement” project, this investment will:

  • Add new equipment like a tractor and seeder
  • Build high tunnel greenhouses at the Booker T. Washington School site in Clarkton
  • Construct a new greenhouse on the Dublin campus

These upgrades mean more hands-on learning opportunities for students, stronger partnerships with local agricultural leaders, and exciting new programs for our community—including a future Greenhouse Management Certificate.

The college is also collaborating with NC Cooperative Extension to support agriculture educators across the county and bring new enrichment opportunities to the region.

Additionally, this program is expected to generate real-world impact, with products grown valued at approximately $12,000 to help sustain learning experiences for students.
