Today, Oct. 30, Cape Fear Valley Health held a ribbon cutting for SameDay Medical, a new walk-in clinic.

“We’re excited about the opportunity here… It’s not primary care, it’s not the emergency department but it’s a place where our patients can gain access to health care relatively quickly, same day. So we’re incredibly happy that this is our first location of many,” shared Mark Cobb, president of Cape Fear Valley Medical Group, at the ceremony.

The clinic officially opens on Monday, Nov. 3, and will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Located at 6201 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, the space houses seven patient rooms and one advanced practice provider (AAP) to start, with the expectation to add a second APP as demand picks up.

“Our mission is to provide exceptional health care for everyone in our community, and we've got eight hospitals in four different counties [and] close to 100 different locations in the outpatient areas, and it's just amazing how much the outpatient area has grown for the health system. It's really become a huge revenue engine for Cape Fear Valley – right now at $1.8 billion a year in total revenue – the outpatient revenue actually outpaces the inpatient revenue, and that's a testament to all of you and what you've done” added Cape Fear Valley Health COO Daniel Weatherly, acknowledging the many health care professionals in attendance and the work they do everyday.

The Raeford Road location is the first to open, but CFVH has plans for around 12 in total. The next is expected to be in Clinton, though a specific site has yet to be announced.

“I'm super excited to bring this to our community and for them to be able to come and be seen the same day if you can't get in with your primary care but it's not urgent enough for the ED. I'm very excited to bring this with Cape Fear, make history and take care of our patients,” shared Brittany Bailey, service line director for SameDay Medical clinics and primary care clinics in Hoke and Fayetteville.

Appointments can be scheduled at capefearvalley.com/samedaymedical or through MyChart.
