The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County is excited to open up its gallery walls to the community with its annual Public Works Community Art Exhibition. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this community-based art show sponsored by Fayetteville PWC.
Both 2-D and 3-D works will be accepted by any artist residing in Cumberland, Hoke, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland Counties, Fort Bragg or Pope Army Airfield. Submitting one work is $15, and submitting two is $20 total. Artwork drop-off will be on May 30 from 12PM - 8PM. Artists are encouraged to pre-register online. There will be hard copies of the registration forms available on the drop-off day.
“My hope is that visitors will see the potential in the works of young and upcoming artists, the mastery in the works of experienced artists, and understand that art is an essential component of life,” said Beverly Henderson, the exhibit curator and past participant in a press release.
“People call in throughout the year asking how they can exhibit their art in the gallery. Well, this is your time to shine and show once again how much artistic talent we have here in Fayetteville and Cumberland County,” said Bob Pinson, President/CEO of the Arts Council in a press release. "We are grateful to Fayetteville PWC for their continued sponsorship for more than 20 years, and to take this opportunity to congratulate them as PWC celebrates 120 years of serving our community."
Don't miss the opening reception, which will be held on June 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Art Center located in Downtown Fayetteville. This reception is an opportunity for featured artists and art lovers to come together and celebrate the plethora of work in the gallery. Music and light refreshments will be included.
