Travel to Cumberland County generated over $682 million in 2025

According to figures released by Visit North Carolina last week, travel to Cumberland County generated over $682.60 million in expenditure in 2025.  

Tourism expenditures in Cumberland County generated state and local tax revenues of $46.47 million, which represents a $136.39 tax savings to each county resident. Additionally, Cumberland County’s tourism industry employs 4,786 people with a payroll of $176.59 million.

“Tourism remains a key factor in supporting and strengthening Cumberland County's local economy,” said Fayetteville Area CVB President and CEO Michelle Williams in a press release.

The statistics are from “The Economic Impact of Travel on North Carolina Counties.” This study was prepared for Visit North Carolina by Tourism Economics.  Statewide, county and regional data for 2025 are available HERE.
