The Harnett County Economic Development Partnership is looking for feedback from area businesses  to gauge regional workforce needs. The group has partnered with regional workforce and economic development groups - Wake County Economic Development, Raleigh Chamber, and Capital Area Workforce Development - to launch a survey to better understand skills gaps and employer needs.

“We, Harnett County Economic Development (a department of Harnett County Government), are partnering with these organizations by promoting the survey to ensure that this valuable data is captured from our businesses in Harnett County. We are grateful for this partnership as it will help us to better understand skills gaps and needs in Harnett County and regionally,” said HCEDP Marketing Director Elizabeth Edwards.

According to the Regional Skills Analysis webpage, a main goal of the survey is to address the quality of the current and future workforce and improve the employment pipeline.

Other objectives of the survey include the following,

  • Understand both short and long-term hiring needs;
  • Inform training and education providers of the current workforce needs;
  • Provide current workforce information for policy makers in workforce, education, and economic development;
  • Develop an effective cradle-to-career talent pipeline strategy; and
  • Create an efficient structure for ongoing industry feedback.

All Harnett County business executives, managers, HR representatives, and other business leaders representing small, medium, and large businesses are encouraged to participate.

Each regional economic development partner has a unique link for the survey. Harnett County’s link is here:  https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7304670/Harnett

According to a post on LinkedIn from the HCEDP, all respondents will be entered to win $1,000 to the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, plus a getaway to the Blockade Runner Resort in Wrightsville Beach.

The Harnett County Economic Development Partnership is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting the attraction and expansion of businesses creating living-wage jobs and investment in Harnett County. You can learn more here.
