Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County awards $170k in grants to support arts, tourism and community vibrancy

By Staff Report, posted 9 hours ago

The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fiscal Year 2026 Project Support Grants. A total of $169,280 has been awarded to 14 arts-focused programs across Cumberland County, each designed to elevate artistic expression, enrich community engagement, and strengthen Fayetteville’s appeal as a regional tourism destination.

Spanning theater seasons, visual arts residencies, concert series, and cultural festivals, these grant-funded initiatives will take place between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. Together, they represent a growing creative economy that attracts visitors, drives foot traffic in commercial corridors, and adds vibrancy to public life.

“These programs reflect the dynamic spirit of our region and help position Fayetteville as a cultural destination,” said Director of Grants and Allocations Michael Houck in a press release. “They’re not just entertainment—they’re experiences that encourage travel, support local businesses, and deepen our identity as a community that values the arts.”

This year's funded programs are expected to draw attendees from across the region and state, bringing increased visibility and economic benefit to Fayetteville and its surrounding communities.

Project Support Grants are made possible through support from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. These investments reflect a shared commitment to fostering cultural growth and creating opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with the arts.
