The Hope Mills Chamber of Commerce has relocated to 4950 Cameron Road, Suite B.
“We're really excited about the move. [We're excited about] having a place where our members and non-members can come to inquire more about joining our chamber and see what we have to offer…It's in a great location; it's right across from the Hope Mills Middle School, and it gives a little more intimate feel for our business owners that are looking to join our community network,” shared HMACC President Shamblica Lock.
Lock assumed the role of president about a year ago, and the chamber also welcomed an entirely new board of directors. Together, the new leadership is examining what changes can and should be made to ensure the organization can grow and serve members.
“My goal is to provide the businesses more benefits back to them. I want them to see their business grow and succeed from having a chamber membership… I really want them to feel the quality and the effectiveness from the chamber. I want us to be able to pour back into them,” shared Lock.
The Hope Mills Chamber is focusing on strengthening its core programming while it restructures operations under the new board. The chamber continues to host its monthly luncheons and breakfasts, as well as its quarterly signature events, including the annual golf tournament, which took place on July 31.
Looking ahead, the organization is preparing for its annual banquet on Sept. 24, themed “Celebrating Collaboration,” which will spotlight partnerships among local businesses, community leaders and organizations across the region. As it works to build out new programs, a more user-friendly, member-focused website and deeper collaboration with partner organizations, the Hope Mills Chamber is careful to continue spotlighting local small businesses as the area attracts additional large, national brands.
“There are a lot of businesses getting ready to come in here; larger corporations, like your Target, your Publix. So we definitely want our small business owners not to feel like they're not going to be supported anymore. So I definitely want to uplift them to let them know they're still going to be visible,” added Lock.
The Hope Mills Chamber is also actively recruiting new board members to support its next phase of growth.
