Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation and Methodist University Host Step Up 4 Health and Wellness Expo April 20

Sponsored Content provided by Ashley Lee - Development Coordinator for Community Engagement, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation

Don’t miss the third annual Step Up 4 Health and Wellness Expo Saturday, April 20, 2024, which includes a free community health and wellness expo. This fun, family-friendly community event also gives supporters the chance to raise money for worthy causes by participating in a 4K or 1-mile walk.

Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation is grateful for its long-standing partnership with Methodist University, which will host the event on its campus at 5400 Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.

Last year, more than 700 participants helped raise over $55,000 to support Cape Fear Valley Health patient programs care areas, including home health care services through the Community Alternatives Program (CAP), the Cumberland County Medication Access Program (CCMAP), Children's Services, Heart Care, and Friends of the Cancer Center. New this year, participants can also designate funds for nursing education scholarships.

The Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation is expecting record attendance this year, as the community comes out to enjoy free, family-friendly activities such as face-painting, fairy hair, and stem art activities by Cape Fear Regional Theater.

Community members will also have the opportunity to learn about Cape Fear Valley Health’s service lines and programs, receive a hands-only CPR training, and dance along with zumba instructors. In addition, children will be able to receive free walk-up vision screenings.

Registration and t-shirt pick up will begin at 9:00 am on April 20, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30 am and the walk kick-off and expo commencing at 10:00 am. Participants can also pick up their walk t-shirt, which is free with registration, on Friday, April 19 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the rear of the Medical Arts Building at 101 Robeson St.

Participants are encouraged to register for the event in advance at www.cfvfoundation.org/stepup4health. Options include registering as an individual, a team, or even as a “virtual walk” participant if you are unable to attend in person.

Please join the fun and festivities at Methodist University on April 20 and walk away with a wealth of health and wellness knowledge and resources. Interested in being a sponsor? Call Ashley Lee at 910-615-1434.
