Fayetteville corridor requires temporary closure for railroad work

By Staff Report, posted 7 months ago

A railroad company has informed state highway officials it needs to close West Russell Street downtown this week to perform railroad crossing maintenance.

The four-lane road will be closed in both directions near Ray Avenue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Contractors for R.J. Corman Railroad Group doing the track repairs will install detour signs. Drivers should seek an alternate way around downtown that day, or follow the detour signs to be posted.
