Sandhills Community College to host ATEX Pre-Employment Workshop

ATEX Technologies is offering a two-day Pre-Employment Workshop for two positions, including Quality Inspection Technician and Intricate Assembly Technician for 2nd shift (3 – 11 p.m.) on Tuesday, July 7, and Wednesday, July 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Kennedy Hall on the Sandhills Community College campus. There is no cost to attend the two-day session.
Attending and participating in the workshop will lead to a guaranteed interview upon completion with the company that could lead to full-time work. Starting pay is $17.50 an hour with opportunities for ongoing training, testing and career growth opportunities with ATEX over a multi-year period.
Training offered for in-demand careers including:
Quality Inspection Technician
Performs visual inspection of finished products using tools and gauges. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills; problem-solving skills to assist with root cause analysis; keen attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, multi-task and remain focused on the tasks at hand; Strong sense of urgency and teamwork.
Intricate Assembly Technician
Performs precision assembly of small components into finished products. Requires a high level of hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and a patient disposition.
These positions are for long-term career paths with excellent growth potential, including cross-training to support building a successful and rewarding career with ATEX.
“I attended the first workshop and it has led me to a new and exciting career,” said a current employee in a press release. “I enjoy the hands-on training while I am learning and the people at ATEX are nice and that’s what makes a difference in someone’s life.” Another new employee who attended the first workshop adds, “I’m gaining manufacturing experience and I hope to continue to work here as my career, skill sets and education continue to grow in engineering, quality, process, or mechanical. They provide very good training and support.”
