Dank Burrito opens in Fayetteville

By Stephanie Meador, posted 6 months ago
The carne asada taco and jerk chicken taco served with chips and salsa are just a few of the mouthwatering menu items at newly opened Dank Burrito.

The North Carolina-born franchise, Dank Burrito, opens its newest location at 5508 Raeford Rd. today, April 1, 2025, kicking off with dinner service at 4 p.m.

Franchisees Brittany and Josh Allen, both U.S. Army Veterans, are the owners of this new restaurant. After Josh retired from 20 years of service, the couple discovered Dank Burrito at its Raleigh location and knew Fayetteville needed it.

“We actually looked for close to eight months for a space…We were working with Pat Murray over at Grant Murray Real Estate and he was like ‘Hey, this one just popped up. We got to move quickly.’ So we went and we looked at it, and it had everything that we needed. It had the space, it had the drive through, it was a second gen restaurant and it's on one of the busiest intersections in all of Fayetteville. So, it really checked all of the boxes for us, and so we decided to take the plunge there,” shared Brittany Allen.

They’ve turned the old Hardee’s into a 3,600-square-foot hangout with custom graffiti art honoring Fort Bragg and Fayetteville’s military spirit.

Expect scratch-made creations like pork belly with banh mi veggies, Cajun fried mahi with chipotle aioli, and carne asada with kimchi, served as burritos, tacos, or bowls. They also serve dessert, with their freshly made crème brûlée proving to be a fan favorite.

“We’re excited to shake up the Fayetteville restaurant scene,” Josh added in a press release.

Dank Burrito was founded by Clarke Merrell in Morehead City, NC. Merrell made an appearance at the new location’s VIP event on March 28 to support Josh and Brittany as they bring this popular brand to Fayetteville.

Merrell shared in a press release, “Brittany and Josh have embraced the hustle and craft that is at the heart of Dank Burrito. This fifth location is just the start—we’re rolling out across the Southeast.”

On opening night, score a free queso by downloading the Dank Burrito app—unlocking Dankster Rewards and a secret menu of exclusive eats. At opening, the restaurant will offer dine-in and take-out options with drive-through and online ordering coming soon.

Swing by 5508 Raeford Rd. starting April 1 at 4 p.m. Regular hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Follow @dank.burrito on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
