Hope Mills Area Chamber of Commerce announces the 2023 annual Chili Cookoff

By Staff Report, posted 1 year ago

The Hope Mills Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chili Cookoff to benefit Heroes Homecoming is officially scheduled for Nov. 11 from 12 - 4 p.m. at Dirtbag Ales Brewery & Taproom.

“The communities of Cumberland County created Heroes Homecoming as a way of showing recognition and appreciation to all veterans for their courage, their sacrifice and everything they do to defend this country’s freedom – now and forever. The Fayetteville area has always had a unique bond with veterans, as the point of departure and return for hundreds of thousands of soldiers,” shared HMACC President Casey Ferris. “Fayetteville has hosted Heroes Homecoming since 2011, helping it to become the largest commemoration and reunion of its kind. From parades and student-led initiatives to lectures and festivals, cultural celebrations and recognition ceremonies, all of the events at Heroes Homecoming recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of our brave veterans.”

At this time they are still looking for:

  • Chili Cookoff Contestants ($25 fee)
  • Event Sponsors (There are four different levels of sponsorships ranging from $100 to $1000 in price)
  • Vendors ($50 fee)

Anyone interested in entering their Chili in the cookoff should email HMACC@hopemillschamber.org to get signed up. The contestant fee can be paid online by clicking here.

Following the judging, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded cash prizes. Contestant Rules are on the HMACC website.
