A new burger option is in the works for the Town of Hope Mills with the addition of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers being announced in the most recent Town Manager’s report released on Oct. 2.

According to the announcement, Town of Hope Mills Staff is currently reviewing construction drawings for a Freddy’s location at 2860 Hope Mills Road in the same shopping center as Fit 4 Life. Proposed developers are working to revise the landscaping plan to comply with approved site plan regulations.

This will be the second Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers location to come to Cumberland County after the first location opened in Fayetteville on Ramsey Street in 2016.

Freddy's plans submitted to the Cumberland County GIS system.

The Greater Fayetteville Business Journal reached out to the Freddy’s franchise for confirmation and received the following statement from Asst. Public Relations Manager Kim Huynh:

“The number of positive responses we’ve received from guests at our first Fayetteville location has been very encouraging; we’re frequently getting inquiries from those who want to see a Freddy’s nearby, driving us to work hard on our development plans for additional locations. The availability along Hope Mills Road was a great opportunity to place ourselves in an area near a wide variety of different restaurants with a steady flow of traffic. We look forward to being a convenient dining option for those who live and work in the area.”

According to Huynh, they are currently in the planning stages of development and hope to be open in the summer of 2024.

The Hive of Hope Mills is open for business: Big T's serves as anchor tenant

Big T’s has been a local favorite of Hope Mills since 2000 when Timmy (Big T) and Donna Gray first opened right on Hope Mills Lake. It is a seasonal restaurant, so many of Big T’s loyal customers were happy to hear they would now be open year-round, seven days a week.
